For Christmas I bought my dad these, Dr. Scholls Compression socks, and I bought a pair of compression socks at the local home medical supply store which cost me $40. By far the Gold Toe are my dad's favorite for support and comfort. He liked them so much we ordered 3 more pair. You can't beat the price! with Free Shipping to boot!! (no pun intended! LOL) These are difficult to put on. But if you have any experience with wearing compression stockings you would already know that.

I bought my first pair of the Gold Toe Support Socks (medium compression) at the same time as I got 10 pairs of the Dr. Scholl's Graduated Compression (mild) Over the calf. Used the Dr. Scholl's several yrs. for lower leg swelling. The Gold Toe are slightly more expensive, are tighter and thus harder to put on, but have more support. Additionally, the Gold Toe seem to slip/slide in the shoes less. They are a somewhat different texture material, and the reduction in slipperiness is a plus. Both brands do the job for me, but I will probably buy more of the Gold Toe when I need to buy more socks. I am happy with both kinds and GoBros service is great. I used to buy these at Walmart but they apparently don't stock them now.
