i thought the hexpads for these compression shorts would extend towards the back of the thighs but it only goes so far as the sides. i got over it because of how comfortable it was to wear these while playing basketball. when you wear these, they must sit on your waist, not just your hips so keep that in mind if you're willing to give these a try. i would definitely buy another pair but i don't play as much as i would like.

The HexPad Thudd Shorts are amazing. I love not having to pull pads out of football pants to wash them. They are versitile enough to use for all sports.

Protection wise the extended pads are great. The lack of a cup pocket seems strange since the other shorts have 1. The hex pads are very flexable and once you get use to the compression short are barely noticeable.
