These are nice pads, and provide good protection for such a thin flexible pad. But the sizing isn't really correct for use as a knee pad. I ordered Large size, which should fit easily according to the weights listed here (some other size charts show the large to be for 15"-17" -- my knee measures 15.25"), but they were WAY too tight. I could barely get them over my calf. Also, they aren't really long enough either, barely covering the height of my knee. I wound up returning these and getting the longer McDavid 6440 pads (in XL).

Overall, liked the pads alot. My daughter plays goalie on a futsal team, diving on a basketball court to stop shots on goal, and these pads are thin, lightweight but very effective at cushioning that impact. The only negative was that if using them as kneepads the McDavid sizing chart was off. We ordered a pair that complied with their info and they were too small, so we had to order the next size up. Still, the pads themselves are great.

The impactability of the pads are awesome. She goes down hard on her knees very often and she felt completely comfortable in these. They are also very low profile, so they are easy to move in. Our daughter is a skinny little thing, so the sizing was good, too, there was no slipping. However, I must let you know that the outer fabric ripped after her second time wearing them. I repaired the tear, but now the other one ripped so badly that some of the hex pads fell out. We are not dis-pleased with the product, but, perhaps, McDavid could re-think the fabric for VBall players. I don't know if other sports wear them under something else, but these would make AWESOME stand-alone kneepads with a fabric change.
