The McDavid Thermal Knee Wrap is designed to provide safe, effective treatment for knee injuries and rehabilitation. Designed for both hot and cold therapy and use on the right or left knee, the McDavid Thermal Knee Wrap can be applied as a cold wrap to acute injuries immediately after trauma, or as a hot wrap for ongoing therapy.
Cold therapy constricts blood vessels to reduce the swelling, help block pain and promote healing, while heat therapy increases the blood flow to the injured area, helping the blood remove and reabsorb cellular by-products. Heat is also soothing, and can reduce pain and stiffness. However, heat should never be applied to an acute injury unless under the direction of a sports medicine professional.
The McDavid Thermal Knee Wrap contains insulating properties of the neoprene wrap that help maintain desired temperature for longer time. Ideal for knee, thigh, groin and larger extremities. Includes Hot/Cold Reusable Gel Pack. |

So I purchased this about a month ago. I enjoy the convenience, however it doesn't hold on your leg and isolate very well. I mean the straps hold on well, but it seems like the placement doesn't work very well. I have a high tolerance for heat, so maybe it's just my body. But it doesn't seem to be hot enough. I worked in a physical therapy clinic for 6 months so I know what it's supposed to feel like. With the clinical pads we would have to put a towel between the pad and the skin because it would be that hot sometimes. This knee strap feels like having a warm blanket over your knee. Guess I had too high of expectations.
