I have used these socks as well as the over-the-calf versions. I purchased the last batch of socks six years ago, and some of them are starting to show their age. Based on past experience they will last a couple of more years. the socks are still comfirtable and the elastic is still as strong as when new, but my untrimmed big-toe nail is starting to wear through on a couple of the socks. The Thorlo is easily woth the money for comfort, fit, and longevity.

I purchased 2 pair of the X-L sise as i have size 13 feet. The socks are NOT large enough as they roll under my heal when wearing them. I don;'t know whether they srank or were simply large and labeled X-L, my Godson now has two extra socks. very unhappy with purchase.
