The Men's Transcendent Sweater (57553) from Outdoor Research is a great layering puffer. The Transcendent can be worn under a shell in cold weather, or over a base layer in more mild weather. The gifted thru-hiker has been known to get some double-use out of this this insulated layer by treating it as a pillow, sleeping mat, and even a portable refrigerator. While on trail you can place your cheese or summer sausage on the outside of the Transcendent Sweater when it is still cold from the previous night. Fold it up, tie the sleeves to secure the pouch, and place in the middle of your pack. Impressive and fashionable--clearly the move of an industrious Bro.
