The Outdoor Research manufacturing facilities and offices are located in Seattle, Washington, giving Outdoor Research employees easy access to one of the most varied natural playgrounds in the world. Within a few hours' drive of Outdoor Research, there are huge volcanoes to climb, saltwater islands to paddle among, whitewater rivers to play on and fish in, desert country to rock climb and mountain bike across, and a true temperate rainforest to backpack through; not to mention one of the longest ski seasons in North America.
On any given weekend (and sometimes during the week) Outdoor Research employees can be found enjoying these wild places and testing the products they have a hand in producing. This is a very important part of the testing process; personal hands-on, employee use of Outdoor Research gear.
