Darn Tough are undeniably comfortable, as are most merino wool socks. At this point, the "Lifetime Guarantee" illusion needs to be addressed. My entire vast sock collection is flooded with darn tough. My go to sock for all day comfort is the heavyweight extra cushion mountaineering sock. These socks wear out and break down quickly and have been torn at the seams upon pulling them on.
In fairness to this company, I'm not your average hiker. Many miles and heavy packs are my calling card. But...8 years ago I never had wear and tear on my darn tough. The lighter, more minimalist versions they manufacture seem to last forever.
A heavyweight mountaineering sock should not rip at the seams upon pulling them on. I'm not abandoning this company but objectively speaking there needs to be quality control concerns over this specific product at $30 a pair in my opinion. I've had the same experience with the over the calf mountaineering sock as well. The heavyweight tactical full cushion socks rip at the foot seams upon pulling them on also.
These are not complaints, but objective depictions of my experience with specific products in their vast lineup of sock offerings.
