I really like that "over the calf" really means the socks go over my calf. Lots of other brand socks do not. The thickness for the midweight socks are just perfect- not too thick, not too thin. They also feel really well made and should last a long time.

I bought the paul bunyans for myself but as I have sasquatch wide feet and apparently hams for calves they didn't fit. Although I gave them to my brother and he loves them. He commented on how smooth and nice they felt and warm. Its odd to us because we usually associate wool with being itchy but that's not the case with these socks. Also it recently got in the 50s in Houston and he's been wearing them alot.

I'm on my feet all day, moving around the city for work. These are the warmest socks I've found and keep my feet dry.

Nicely made and warm. Not as comfortable as I would ideally prefer. I have thin legs, but they are still quite tight at first wearing. May loosen up with continued wear. Very slightly itchy, but I do have sensitive skin. Suggest buying one size up from normal shoe size if you have average sized legs; more if you are thick. Overall satisfactory.

I wear the Paul Bunyan socks in my cowboy boots and in my hiking boots here in Arizona. Even after two years they still stay up over my calf and fit great. No pilling. No holes. It may not be necessary but I let them air dry after washing.

I wear cowboy boots all day every day and for years I've searched for a comfortable, durable over-the-calf sock that will stay up. This is it! I originally bought 3 pairs and I've been wearing them for almost a year. They are still in excellent condition. I'm about to reorder 3 more pairs so that I won't have to pester my wife about keeping a pair ready for me to wear. She knows that they are my favorites and I won't wear anything else. You can't go wrong with these socks.

Maybe good for skinny legs, but too tight for me. Hard to put on, and I got extra larges. Stays up, but just too narrow. Didn't have a choice of width.

I want to note that these are Full Cushion socks, not Cushion. 2yrs ago I purchased five pair to wear in the office, and I wear them one per day, washing on the weekends. They are still like-new. They are still the same color. They do not fall down my legs. They have no holes nor windows. They haven't gotten "pitted" (and I don't properly launder them inside-out nor in cold water). Today I purchased more so I can launder them every other week. Treat your Feet.

So far so good! These Darn Tough socks are comfortable, warm, and not itchy. I do not typically like to have wool socks, but these are great and not at all like wool socks I have had in the past.

Very solid socks. Slightly more warm than I feel should've been stated. Great socks though. Opt for the CoolMax socks if you live anywhere hot and humid. The wicking on these Darn Tough socks isn't as great as they say.

I bought two pairs of the Darn Tough Hunter & one pair of the Paul Bunyan socks and I have been very happy with my purchase. Even though they have a bit of a high price I'm a firm believer that, in most cases you get what you pay for, but not always. In this case I believe I have gotten my dollars worth of quality in not only the build of these socks but every fiber they are made from, with a very generous warranty to boot. I'm a hiker and wildlife photographer in Florida and even down here I learned MERINO WOOL is the way to go, there are NO cotton socks in my drawer and even on the hottest / humid day wearing my military suede boots and my knee high socks I stay dry and cool. Even better they are Made In The USA. I'll be buying more Darn Tough socks as my work socks wear out.

The most comfortable sock ever. I've worn boots for work for 36yrs. What's amazing is my feet never get hot or cold with these, its kinda like being in between temps all day long. You gotta try these Darn Tough socks. Ask for a pair as a gift. I suggest you find a local store that sells them and fell the thickness difference. Then order them with GoBros, they really are a great customer service oriented company. FYI The fit of the sock is perfect for me, so I suggest you buy according to your shoe size.
